HELP ECS OPEN DOORS TO THE NATURAL WORLD
Each year, 1,200 ECS students participate in overnight, outdoor education experiences. Destinations include the Pacific Crest Trail, Angeles National Forest, Joshua Tree National Park and Yosemite. Prior to coming to ECS, most of our students have never engaged in outdoor experiences and these trips foster a personal connection with the natural world. Give to ECS today to ensure all ECS students have access to an outdoor education experiences.
At ECS, nature serves as a living lab to foster academic and personal growth and students are empowered to be critical thinkers and environmental stewards through hands-on interdisciplinary projects and experiential outdoor learning. The positive health benefits include a greater sense of self-awareness, confidence and self-esteem along with the development of collaborative working and communications skills.
"One thing I learned from this trip is that you can strive for greatness...we hiked and scrambled with our backpacks for eight miles, that taught me to push through and strive...I feel like I can overcome more challenges like this." -Erick, 11th Grade
