Committees will begin their work this month

Membership of the standards review and revision committees was announced in April, and the thirteen committees will begin their work in May at the first committee meeting.

Thirteen committees representing each of the content areas in the Colorado Academic Standards, Colorado English Language Proficiency Standards and computer science will meet to review public feedback and benchmarking reports. Committees will use these sources to develop initial recommendations for revisions to the Colorado Academic Standards.  The committees’ recommended revisions to the standards will be made public for feedback in October.

Committee membership and meeting dates are currently posted to the review and revision committee webpage. As committees begin their work, general and content-specific resources will be available on committee-specific webpages.

Meetings are open to the public. The public is welcome to observe but not participate in committee meetings. Please note the public observation norms.
The review and revision process is required by Senate Bill 08-212, known as Colorado’s Achievement Plan for Kids (CAP4K). The law requires a review and revision of the Colorado Academic Standards on or before July 1, 2018, and every six years thereafter.
