2021-22 Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program applications due July 31
The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program offers funds to schools to provide elementary school children with fresh fruits and vegetables during the school day at no cost. Apply for the FFVP in the 2021-22 school year by submitting a complete FFVP application in the Colorado Nutrition Portal by Saturday, July 31. Reference the application instructions or the FFVP webpage for details.
Because of your hard work and commitment, P-EBT has reached over 306,000 students and over $239 million dollars in benefits have been issued to date. Additionally, through USDA funding from mini-grants, sponsors are expected to receive reimbursement for P-EBT efforts that collectively amounts to $320,000.
The Local Food Purchasing Program (LFP) was recently refunded by the Colorado legislature and will begin this fall. School Nutrition is working through the details and will provide more information soon.

Attend kitchen math training hosted by Nourish Colorado
School Nutrition and Nourish Colorado are hosting kitchen math training at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18. Participants will learn common kitchen math terms and how food waste affects food cost, menu planning, portion control and purchasing. This training is for food service directors, kitchen managers and cooks. Participants will receive 1.5 hours of professional standards credits. Register for kitchen math training via Zoom.
Attend the CDPHE and Nourish Colorado virtual knife skills training
Early Childhood Educators can attend this virtual knife skills training, which is a two-part series on Saturday, Aug. 21, and Saturday, Aug. 28. Both sessions will start at 9 a.m. Participants who attend both sessions will receive a gift card and supply box prior to training. Registration closes on Monday, Aug. 2.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's Vaccine Campaign is looking for summer feeding sites to host vaccine clinics for students and families. A representative from the Vaccine Campaign may reach out to coordinate a vaccine clinic at your site.
