Provide Feedback on proposed revisions to the standards

CDE is seeking public feedback on proposed revisions to the Colorado Academic Standards.

Drafts of the proposed revisions and proposed voluntary high school computer science standards are open for public feedback through the online standards feedback system until Monday, Nov. 27.

Proposed revisions can also be viewed by content area.

Comments and questions can also be sent to the standards review and revision email address:

Still time to provide feedback on Essential Skills

The feedback window for updates to Colorado’s Essential Skills is still open as part of the standards review and revision process.

The Essential Skills, formerly referred to as 21st century skills, are the skills students need to be successful in post-secondary education and the workplace such as initiative, collaboration, flexibility and accountability.

View more information on Essential Skills, a guidance resource, and take the survey.

Draft resource for CELP standards available to review

The Colorado English Language Proficiency (CELP) standards committee has been working diligently to build resources and support in implementing the CELP/WIDA consortium Standards Framework for Colorado.

The committee is seeking feedback on a draft document of the resource website. This document is meant to illustrate key elements and categories the website will offer to districts and schools. View the drafted CELP resource (PDF).

Provide feedback on the draft by Monday, Nov. 27.

Participate in the October Standards Review and Revision webinar

The Office of Standards and Instructional Support is hosting monthly informational webinars to keep educators and stakeholders updated on the standards review and revision process.

The next hour-long webinar will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19. It will be an orientation to all public feedback opportunities for proposed standards revisions.

View upcoming webinar dates and previous recordings.
The review and revision process is required by Senate Bill 08-212, known as Colorado’s Achievement Plan for Kids (CAP4K). The law requires a review and revision of the Colorado Academic Standards on or before July 1, 2018, and every six years thereafter.
