Waivers extended for the National School Lunch & School Breakfast programs
The U.S Department of Agriculture has announced the extension of multiple COVID-19 waivers to last through the end of the 2020-21 school year. These waivers apply only to the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program and Child and Adult Care Food Program. In addition, USDA announced a new waiver that waives the requirement of offer versus serve at the high school level. Waivers that have been extended include:
Nationwide Meal Times Waiver
Nationwide Non-Congregate Feeding Waiver
Nationwide Meal Pattern Waiver
Nationwide Parent/Guardian Meal Pick-Up Waiver

Save the Date - SFSP Review Webinar
CDE’s School Nutrition team is required to conduct reviews of sponsors operating the Summer Food Service Program, including new sponsors that operated during unanticipated school closures. This year, all SFSP reviews will be conducted offsite. If your sponsor organization is up for a review, School Nutrition invites sponsors to attend a webinar at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, to learn about the offsite review process and help sponsors plan for their upcoming SFSP review. Register for the webinar now and submit any questions in advance of the webinar using this form.
Participants will receive professional standards training credit for attending the webinar. If you do not receive a confirmation email after registering, please work with your IT department to add firstname.lastname@example.org to your safe sender's list.

Use Summer Meal Promotional videos
Hunger Free Colorado developed promotional summer meal videos to help sponsors promote the Summer Food Service Program. Videos are available in both English and Spanish with short and long versions available.
