June 6 - Ephrata Farmers Market Opens
Located on C Street NW, in front of the Grant County Courthouse. 

June 11 - Chief for a Day
Chief for a Day celebrates the lives of nine children from throughout the county, each of whom endures and overcomes considerable physical or developmental challenges every day. Each child is honored and "empowered" as chief of a local law enforcement or fire agency for the duration of the celebration day. This special ceremony will take place at 2 PM on the front lawn of the Grant County Courthouse. 

June 11-13- Sage-N-Sun
The annual Sage-N-Sun Festival is scheduled starting with the Rotary Youth Parade on Thursday night at 7 PM. The Lions Club fun run registration opens at 6:30 AM and the race begins at 8 AM. The Grand Parade begins at 11 AM and racing at Ephrata Raceway Park starting at 7 PM will finish up the Sage-N-Sun weekend. More information can be found HERE.

June 13- The Great NW Air Race
Airplanes will be staged at the starting line at 9AM with take off at 11AM. Event will take place at the Ephrata Airport. For questions about the event, contact the Port of Ephrata at 754-3508. 

June 13- Living Museum at Grant County Historical Museum
Experience people dressed up in old fashioned clothes as you explore and witness the adventure of persons back in the olden days throughout the buildings in the Museum.

June 15- Splash Zone Season Opens
You can purchase season passes at the City of Ephrata.

June 18 - The World's Largest Swimming Lesson
Register today to be a part of the Guinness World Record for the largest swimming lesson! Check in begins at 7:30 AM. For questions, please contact the City of Ephrata Parks and Recreation Department, 754-4601. 

June 19-20- Relay for Life of Columbia Basin
Walk for a fight against cancer at Relay for Life which will be held at the Ephrata High School Track starting Friday at 6 PM and ending Saturday at 9 AM. You can sign up to participate or make a donation HERE.

June 19 - July 12 - Masquer's Theater: Bob, A Life in Five Acts
From the moment of his birth in the ladies room in a fast food restaurant, nothing has ever gone right for Bob... A fast paced comedy put on by Masquer's Theater. Directed by Cheri Barbre. For more information contact Masquer's Theater at 246-2611. 

June 20 - Dash of Color 5K
10:00 AM at Patrick Park, $25 for Individual or $95 for a team up to four. Poster and more information below, to register click HERE. 

July 14 - Chamber Business After Hours
The next Chamber Business After Hours will take place at the Ephrata Best Western Rama Inn. The event will run from 5-7 PM, refreshments and appetizers will be provided. There will be a $5 cover charge to attend. 

July 17-18 - Basin Summer Sounds
This year's headliners are: DoctorfunK, Greg Rolie, Austin Jenckes, and Chance McKinney. Music will run from 5PM-10PM on Friday night and 11:45AM-10PM Saturday night. Food and craft vendors will be on site as well as a beer garden that will be open during the musical performances on Friday and Saturday. Ephrata Rotary's 3-on-3 tournament will take place Saturday morning, starting at 8AM, as well as the Car and Toy Show which will from from 8AM-3PM. LOCAL AREA 4-H and FFA YOUTH SEEKING SUPPORT THROUGH THE EPHRATA-SOAP LAKE AG BOOSTER CLUB

The local 4-H and FFA program is building stream in our community.  Ephrata and Soap Lake 4-H and FFA youth are actively working with their livestock projects for upcoming fairs. Local youth involved in 4-H and FFA are the future of farming and may go on to be farmers themselves or work in the Ag industry. 
These 4-H and FFA youth need our community and financial support.  Typically, farm families with 4-H and FFA youth have financial support at local fairs from the community that the family trades goods and services with.   Those participants from non-farm families seem to struggle to get the financial support at least equal to the majority of animals sold at local fairs. They are unknown in our community and sometimes come from low income or struggling family dynamics.
The Ephrata-Soap Lake Ag Boosters Club is a group of local volunteers from our community whose purpose is to raise local awareness and support for our local Ag youth.  Volunteers attend the livestock sale at the Grant County Fair in August to show support and purchase livestock on behalf of the monetary donations received.  Unfortunately, our local Booster Club does not have enough money to travel to all the various fairs.
For several years, local area farmers, businesses and those in the political arena within our community have so generously donated money to the 4-H and FFA Ag Booster Club.   Past donations from these groups have been vital and while their support is so appreciated, funds are limited to cover the current and growing needs at the fair.   If you have had children involved in 4-H or FFA or just have a love of Agriculture and would like to show your financial support, please contact the Ephrata Chamber of Commerce to find out more information.

The Ephrata Farmer's Market will be open June 6, 2015. There will be a ribbon cutting, music, master gardeners, produce and vendors galore! 8AM-Noon in front of the courthouse (C Street SW).

Course and Distance: The race starts at the bottom of the hill on Nat Washington Way.
 
2 mile course-             All pavement, challenging hill at the start, through residential area, with a fast downhill finish onto the lawn at the Middle School.   Runners and walkers
Time & Water at 1 mile
5 mile course-             All pavement, challenging hill at the start.  Course takes runners & walkers around the Port of Ephrata. Fast downhill finish onto the lawn at the Middle School.  Times at 1 & 3 miles, Water at 2 & 4 miles
Facilities:              Restrooms are available at the Middle School.  First aid available on the course
and at the finish line.

ASK THE PROS AT SCORE! JOIN OUR WORK SHOPS. The Central Washington SCORE organization is one of more than 600 in the United States with more than 13,000 mentors, 12 of which are in North Central Washington. The local SCORE group is sponsoring a series of workshop sessions that will run through most of 2015 which will address different business factors. It isn’t too late, so reserve your place for any or all of these workshops.  SCORE mentors and other experts will lead these sessions. You will come out of the sessions with a solid basis for making decisions regarding what you want to do.

All meetings will be held in the SCORE Office at 2 South Chelan (lower level). The meetings will start at 12 noon and will end by 2:00 PM. There will be time for Q & A.  Bring a “brown bag” lunch if you wish.  The fee for each workshop is $25.00 or $100.00 for 6 workshops.  Remember more than one person from your business can attend
