It's almost time for open studios again with a new date this year and a move from two openings to just one event in the summer. I do hope some of you can make it to our little stretch of the Thames over the weekend.

If you can't make it in person you can get a glimpse of studio life thanks to photographer Jo Underhill who I spent a fab day with last month. All the images on this newsletter are courtesy of her and you can see more of them, and of other ceramicists in their lairs, on her website here.

Open Studios

With a community of over 450 artists, makers and designers there is plenty to see at the Second Floor Studio and Arts Open Studios - see the full directory here

The hours are extended this year with a preview evening on Thursday 2nd from 6-9 and then three days over the weekend, Fri, Sat and Sun all 1-7

Alongside the open studios there are the Anonymous charity postcard sale and Modern Makers Sculpture Show in noFormat gallery.

Full details on what's on and how to get there are on the website here

Art in Clay

Also with new dates this year August is Art in Clay at Hatfield House.

I always enjoy this show as it's a great chance to catch up with other makers and see a really wide range of ceramics.

Dates are 19th, 20th, 21st August and all the details can be found on their website here

Into the autumn

I know we've not had summer yet but looking forward there are a couple of things later this year that I wanted let you know about now.

I'm delighted to be going back to Cambridge for Innovations in Ceramic Art on 5th and 6th November.

Before that I'm very excited to be part of a group show, Haptic/Tacit, with four of my fellow Crafts Council Hothouse cohort and our respective mentors.  The show will be at the Leyden Gallery in Spitalfields at the end of October and at the Old Fire Station in Oxford in early 2017.  I'll tell you more nearer the time.

In the meantime, or if you can't make it to any of these shows, you can currently find my work at the following galleries
