Graduate jobs: where is the sweetspot?

  • Some jobs are easier to come by... graduates are 3x more likely to find a position in Accounting & Audit where 6.3% of the workforce has no prior professional experience vs. 1.8% in Asset Management
  • ...but it might be worth holding off: while Accounting & Audit opens up more positions to graduates, expect to earn on average 36% less than in Investment Banking or Wealth Management
  • Where is the middle ground between graduate job availability and pay?: investment banks and hedge funds look like the best compromise, as they’ll give graduates the best salaries they can expect (£39,000) while still hiring a relatively high amount of them (3.2-3.9% of staff)
