COVID-19 Updates for Santa Clara County

Latest news for our community.
July 11, 2020

Forward to a Friend

Dear Neighbors,

Silicon Valley has led the world in many ways, and our response to the pandemic is no exception. As COVID-19 rates across our state and region continue to increase, the County Health Officer is shifting to a new approach to contain the virus and protect the safety of our community.

The County’s new Risk Reduction Order takes effect on July 13, and allows additional activities such as hair and nail services, gyms, and outdoor gatherings of up to 60 people to resume, but it requires strict social distancing protocols, consistent use of face coverings, and significant capacity limits for those activities to occur.

Even though we are resuming more activities, there are many reasons to be concerned. We must all remain vigilant because each of us has a responsibility to be thoughtful with our choices to protect the strangers we pass by at the grocery store or on the hiking trail, our neighbors, and the people we love. We cannot stress it enough that we must be selfless and be willing to make sacrifices to defeat the virus. We are the ones who have the power to stop it.

Thank you,
County of Santa Clara
