Restoring Election Confidence

The 2020 presidential election shook public confidence in the U.S. election system, leading to dozens of lawsuits and an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Join a virtual panel of experts as they offer recommendations about how to go about the vital task of rebuilding public trust in the administration of elections. Register for the Zoom event here.


SJH x PAVE Change is Brewing: Rape Culture on Campus

6-7 PM CST

Come join PAVE UW, the Social Justice Hub, and an expert from the Preventing Interpersonal Violence and Overcoming Trauma (PIVOT) lab on campus for a relaxed discussion in a safe space about a topic that affects us all: Rape culture on our campus. Badgers Exploring Social Justice Careers
Monday, March 22
2:30 - 4 PM CST

Interested in learning more about careers in social justice? Join this virtual trek to learn from alumni professionals who work in non-profits, governmental organizations, and businesses with a focus on social justice! You’ll have an opportunity to learn from professionals about their careers focused on social justice and ask them questions. We’ll also break into small groups and have an opportunity to “experience” a piece of their work. Register on Handshake to participate and view participating professionals here.

Food Justice Collective
The Food Justice Collective, a collective of UW-Madison student-led groups, works to improve food access, provide information about available resources and unite existing initiatives with the common goal of food justice. Contact the Food Justice Collective Co-Directors, Raven Hall and Connor Raboine, to further support food justice.
Housing Equity
The Housing Equity team increases awareness through education, community building, organization partnerships, and initiatives related to housing insecurities connecting with the related greater Dane County organizations. New members are invited to weekly Tuesday 6 pm meetings (via zoom) to discuss current issues.  
Contact Co-Directors, Diego Flores and Nicole Meyer, to further support housing equity, including work at local organizations.
Criminal Justice Reform
Criminal Justice Reform works to promote awareness and change related to social justice issues in the criminal justice system. New members are invited to weekly Wednesday 8 PM meetings (via zoom). Contact Co-Directors, Alli Burgdorf and Clarence Harley, to further support criminal justice reform.
Sustainability Collaborative
Sustainability Collaborative intends to be is a comprehensive resource for UW-Madison students and community members to engage in specific opportunities and ways to work towards environmental justice and sustainability in our community and world. Contact Co-Director, Alyssa Bokotey, to further support sustainability.

Are you a UW-Madison student and in need of some extra funds due to COVID-19 implications? If so, go to your My UW Student Center, navigate to "e-forms", then open up "emergency funds" to apply for emergency funding that the University will provide as a grant. Learn more here

gALPHA Social Impact

In partnership with the Social Justice Hub, gALPHA Social Impact is a free four-week program designed to help UW-Madison students create innovative solutions to problems such as educational equity or criminal justice reform, provides idea and mentorship, and coach individuals. Click here to learn more and apply by March 3 here

Social Justice Education Fellowship
The Kindred Fellowship Program is a new Social Justice Education Fellowship for college students that centers childhood in activism. Maximize your impact on social justice and apply for this fellowship. The application deadline is April 11. Each fellow receives a $750 award upon completion of the program.

The Office of Inclusion Education elevates and prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion for all students at UW-Madison. We offer a broad array of learning opportunities for students that contribute to their Wisconsin Experience. The Office of Inclusion Education seeks to foster social justice to create a place where all Badgers feel like they belong. The Office of Inclusion Education includes Our WisconsinSocial Justice Education Programs, and the Social Justice Hub.

Education Programs
UW community members are able to request a Social Justice Education Program trainings and workshops to support exploration and engagement in topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Collaboration with student organizations and campus partners is encouraged and occurs regularly. Please request workshops at least 3 weeks in advance.
