Focus on Upskilling Pathways
The recently launched initiative "Upskilling Pathways" by the European Commission sets objectives and requirements for EU member states to tackle the issue of low-skilled adults in Europe. EAEA welcomes the initiative and is currently working on it with its members.
 
EAEA publication: Adult Education in Europe 2016 - A Civil Society View
EAEA's set of country reports offer a civil society view on the state of adult education in Europe. The publication combines data collected from EAEA members in 37 countries to showcase an overview of adult education policy in Europe.

Lifelong Learning Interest Group meeting focusing on inclusiveness
The Interest Group on Lifelong Learning, initiatied by EAEA and Lifelong Learning Platform, is focusing on inclusiveness for modernised education in its next meeting. The Interest Group consists of a number of MEPs and civil society representatives who gather regularly to discuss key issues connected to lifelong learning and adult education.

This year's EAEA Grundtvig Awards celebrate projects that have been successful in engaging new groups of learners. Each year, the EAEA Grundtvig Award highlights project results that produce new ideas, new partnerships, new methodologies and a new understanding how we can work in adult learning. In 2017 EAEA is celebrating the impact and benefits of adult education with the theme "The Power and Joy of Learning". We bring together European adult education organisations to demonstrate how adult learning can improve citizens’ lives and prospects in Europe. The campaign has already collected over 50 events, take a look and join the campaign!

The EAEA General Assembly and Annual Conference of 2017 will be held in Girona, Spain, in 2728 June. The theme of the Annual Conference is "Engaging new learners". The registration for the events will open on Monday, 20 of March.

AEMA: The challenges of being a disabled person in the Europe today
The AEMA project aims at improving the lives and learning opportunities of disabled people in Europe. New articles on the EAEA website shed light on the multifaceted challenges of being a refugee with disabilities, and on the reality of being a disabled in Europe today.

ImplOED events: Implementing outreach, empowerment and diversity
The ImplOED partners are organising events around Europe to advocate for more inclusion of marginalised groups in adult education. The article series on the ImplOED website reports from the events.

LSE: Life skills for Europe
People need new skills to respond to what’s happening around them and get on at work, in learning and in life. The recently launched LSE project aims to improve basic skills provision in Europe by explaining, further developing and upscaling the life skills approach. Read more from this article.
