GUO JINGJING SUPPORT THE FIRST "RUN FOR SURVIVAL" CHARITY RUN

OPCFHK will organise Hong Kong’s first-ever “RUN FOR SURVIVAL” charity run, in the hope of enhancing the public awareness of marine conservation and inspiring action to protect our oceans through first-hand experience of struggles faced by wildlife.  Participants will assume the role of either a Marine Animal struggling for survival, or a Conservationist bearing the responsibility for protecting Marine Animals.

RUN FOR SURVIVAL

March 8, 2015 (8:30am - 1:00pm)

Cyberport (Distance: 6.6 km)

Ocean Killers will try to snatch the 2 life flags at your waist. Also be aware of the obstacles you encounter on the way, like marine debris and pollutants.  Your goal is simple: get to the Marine Reserve 6.6 km away with at least 1 life flag remaining.  A “Survivor Certificate” will be issued to Marine Animals who reach the Marine Reserve with at least one life flag intact.  Others will receive a “Certificate of Completion – Marine Animal”.

While on the way to the Marine Reserve, you also have to seize the arm badges from Ocean Killer to stop them from attacking the Marine Animals.  The more badges you get, the more Marine Animals you save.  A “Conservation Hero Certificate” will be issued to Conservationists who obtain 5 or more Ocean Killer arm badges when they reach the Marine Reserve.  Others will receive a “Certificate of Completion - Conservationist”.

 CELEBRITIES SUPPORT THE
 "STEP UP FOR OCEANS" CAMPAIGN

Have you seen our brand new “Step Up For Our Oceans” promotional campaign and those lovely marine-animal-themed shoes?  We are glad to have Ms. Charlie Young, Education Ambassador of OPCFHK, Ms. Guo Jingjing, Marine Conservation Ambassador of OPCFHK, and Mr. Alex Fong, together with Ms. Judy Chen, Foundation Chair of OPCFHK, to support the campaign.  They all put on the marine-animal-themed sneakers specially designed by local fashion designer and illustrator, Zoie Lam@ZLISM, and play as Chinese white dolphin, seahorse, humphead wrasse and other threatened marine animals, to enhance public awareness of the marine debris, overfishing and pollution issues; and remind us that the marine ecosystem is comprised of an interlinking food chain; any missing component could lead to a breakdown of the ecosystem.  They also encourage public to support OPCFHK’s “RUN FOR SURVIVAL” charity run to be held on March 8, 2015 at Cyberport.  Come and join us NOW!
OCEAN PARK CONSERVATION DAY ON JAN 10
