Jump for Joy! Photo Project
Welcome to the Jump for Joy! Photo Project weekly Newsletter!
Quote of the week:
“This life is for loving, sharing, learning, smiling, caring, forgiving, laughing, hugging, helping, dancing, wondering, healing, and even more loving.” ― Steve Maraboli
** On the move again! I will be in LA only until July 19th, then will be heading to Vancouver from July 20 - August 1.. so if you would like to book your Jumping shoots in either city, please email me at: email@example.com Looking forward to creating fun art with you!! :)
** I have had the great pleasure of doing some incredibly fun jumping shoots with lovely and creative: Mark Hildreth (next weeks feature), a couple of sweet boys selling candy on the street, Christopher O'Brocto, a little dog named Gretta (care of Stefany Mathais) and Nava and Benny Cooper - who re-claimed their wedding wear for the shoot. A few of the impressive jumping photos can be seen on the jump for joy! blog interspersed with older jumping photos, quotes, notes and other tidbits.
** Jump for Joy! was also beautifully featured on The Transatlantic Diablog and inspired artwork on Color Blocks Design. It is really nice to see others inspired to create and share art with my images. I love the co-creation which starts off with myself, the camera and the person expressing themselves and their own essence by jumping for joy in front of the camera.. then having others inspired to make art from the images, it evolves into new art by getting reworked and presented from new perspectives .... love it!

For those of you not familiar with the Jump for Joy! photo project yet...
Q. What inspires you to want to jump for joy?
A. Its beautiful to express joy; setting the intention for joy through jumping is a beautiful way to manifest the feeling of joy.
Q: What was your experience like doing the jumping photos? How did it make you feel?
A: After being tense and excited in the beginning - with the loving and awesome manner of Eyoalha, I became more and more comfortable in front of her camera until it was just great fun and a pleasure to jump.. while doing it my mood shifted totally, from being tense to being full of joy and not wanting to stop jumping:)
Q: What is/are your greatest passion(s) in life?
A: To be an honest and inspiring messenger of love and to live a meaningful passionate life in a light and joyful way! ..and to help other people make sense to their lives, finding their tasks and to heal their negative patterns effectively.
Alissa Kolbusch studied stage design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg with Prof. Wilfried Minks. She has been a freelance designer since 1997, and has worked on numerous productions including Gil Mehmert in Kiel, Munich and Bochum, "The Divided Sky," directed by Sebastian Hartmann and Bremer Theater and stage costumes for "Cafe Umberto" and "Rat Race", to name just a few... Her theater stage designs can be seen at: www.kolbusch.com.
The first 2 photos (above) I took of Alissa in Berlin, Germany 2012 and the last one (below) I took in Arrilas, Greece 2011. The jumping photos in Greece were shot spontaneously on a long walk (also shot during a workshop). For the Berlin shoot, we chose settings that we felt typically depicted an area called Schönhauser Allee for the background.
The intention behind the photos, was simply to have fun, feel free and to express her own unique essence of joy. As with every jumping shoot I do, we had a really great time and both left feeling alive and revived after the shoot.
My vision is to create an art photo book of 1,000 photos of people jumping for joy around the world and a photography exhibit that showcases a select few of the best JUMPING images. The compilation of joy expressed by a variety of people from around the world is intended to create a unified community of joy, to express the importance of joy in the lives of all people and to remind us that humanity can come together as one through the expression of joy.
