MURAL UPDATE:
Ive had a fabulous and very full week -
Special thanks to BC Housing, not only for the generous donation towards the project but also for providing a space at 56 East Cordova Street to put together posters.
I've had a fairly steady stream of volunteers helping make posters this week, mostly from the Atira housing next door. Mark Brand from Save On Meats has kindly donated gift certificates for the Butcher shop for volunteers, so lots of happy people having BBQ's this week :)
Love having the help. If you would like to volunteer too, please let me know when you can come in this week.
I also got my Ariel Lift training this week and am now Level 2 Certified to Operate a Boom Lift! :)
A 60ft Boom will be delivered September 4th. I am looking for 2 Certified Boom lift operators willing to volunteer, or work at a reduced rate with me on the wall. The first week will be all wall repairs.

Mini Bio:
I’m of Yugoslav/Danish heritage, born and raised in Vancouver. After high school I attended Pierre DuBrulle Culinary Academy where I became a classically trained journeyman chef in the art of French Cuisine. In 2000, while working at Sportsnet the first woman in the history of Canadian Television to host her own national sports program in Primetime. My career highlight was having Ron McLean throw to me, post game, during the Canucks Stanley Cup run in 2011 when I hosted “Seeking Stanley” on CBC. (Ron is my idol). I love Tom Hanks movies, mostly Big. I’m a Trekkie AND love Star Wars. I watch Jeopardy regularly.
There is no greater joy in my life than the love of my son, Brian and our two pups Baxter and Fenway.
Q: What makes you jump for joy?
A: An optimistic view on life, why WOULDN’T we all want to jump for JOY!
Q. Your experience doing jumping photos?
A: It was the perfect storm of joy. Gorgeous day, rode my bike to my favourite beach….and got to hang out with someone I’m sure will continue to be a good friend! It’s an inspired initiative and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.
Q: What inspires you in life?
A: My son, my love, family, friends, my dogs….good food.
Q: Your greatest passion?
A: Being a mom. My boy Brady was an IVF baby – for a while I thought I might not be able to have kids. He is my miracle and, at 7, is an inspiration for me to live well, love big and share joy.
Q: Driving Force?
A: I’m a bit of a workaholic, good thing I love what I do. Having grown up on Vancouver radio and TV, it’s lovely to be back here after a turn on National Sports TV in Toronto for the better part of a decade. I’m driven to live in the world’s best neighbourhood….where my son can experience the true Vancouver experience of living near the sea, in the shadow of mountains, fresh air and amazing fresh foods. We are so lucky to be able to call Vancouver home.
Q. Philosophy?
A: Do unto others….and invite the neighbourhood for dinner, always.
Q: Anything in the world?
A: I would have my family live on a sustainable farm – great organic foods – with a slew of rescued animals (from horses to dogs and cats). I would love to have a small business providing horseback rides to those who would otherwise never have the chance to experience that joy.
