Walker to Play in 2021 PGA Championship

Philadelphia PGA Member and Sunnybrook Golf Club PGA Assistant Professional Brett Walker finished tied for 10th place in the 2021 PGA Professional Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla., to qualify for the 2021 PGA Championship. Walker will join 19 other PGA Club Professionals to play in his first major championship at The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in May. Congratulations, Brett! Keep up the great play!

Inaugural Women's Philadelphia PGA Professional Championship Set for Aug. 12

In working with our newly-established Women's Committee, the Section has scheduled its inaugural Women's Philadelphia PGA Professional Championship on August 12 at Kennett Square G. & C.C. The championship is open to all women, Class A PGA Members and Associates, Master Professionals and Life Members in active classifications. Additionally, the Section and its Women’s Committee recently introduced its Women’s Series, a new initiative for 2021 designed to encourage networking and camaraderie among women PGA Professionals in the Section. The events are open to all women PGA Members, Associates, and Students and LPGA members; women amateurs are also invited to participate in select Women’s Series events. Now Accepting Playing Legend Applications 

We are now accepting nominations for the 2021 Philadelphia PGA Playing Legends Award. To view the nomination form, which explains the requirements that each nominee must meet in order to be considered for this prestigious honor, click here.  It also has a list of the recognized events where the nominees can earn their points to qualify for this award. Anderson Wins DVO in Dramatic Fashion

Philadelphia PGA Member Mark Anderson won the 2021 Philadelphia PGA Delaware Valley Open in dramatic fashion, scoring an eagle on the first playoff hole at Concord Country Club. Making Anderson’s win even more special, his son Ryan was on his bag as a caddie. This was Anderson’s second Philadelphia PGA Section stroke play win, and his first-ever Philadelphia PGA Rolex Player of the Year tournament victory. To the full press release, click here.

PGA REACH Philadelphia Pro-Am Scheduled for July 26 at Bidermann Golf Club

It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the second annual PGA REACH Philadelphia Pro-Am Championship on Monday, July 26 at the exclusive Bidermann Golf Club in Wilmington, Del. Proceeds of the pro-am will go to support PGA REACH Philadelphia's programming, such as PGA Jr. League, PGA HOPE for military veterans, Golf in Schools, the Philadelphia PGA Junior Tour Diversity Scholarship, and more. Teams consisting of one PGA Professional and three amateur partners will compete in a one best ball of four format on the beautiful and highly acclaimed golf course. The GolfBridge Society Accepting Youth Applications Through May 15

The GolfBridge Society is a new elite mentorship program for serious youth golfers in the Philadelphia area. GolfBridge will teach youth golfers how to use passion and skill for the game to further their lives both on and off the course. The select group of accepted co-ed youth golfers will be united with an amazing group of accomplished amateur golfers, golf organization executives, and CEOs / business leaders for golf and camaraderie. Over 50 juniors in the Philadelphia area have already applied. Join them by applying here for an opportunity to learn from those who were once in your shoes and to prepare for your future. GolfBridge will host three 18-hole invitationals in 2021: Saturday, July 24 at Sunnybrook G.C.; Sunday, August 29 at French Creek G.C.; and Sunday, October 10 at Bidermann G.C.

Participate in the Golf Marathon

PGA REACH Philadelphia is happy to announce the return of its annual Golf Marathon to raise money for its Youth, Military, and Diversity initiatives. This year, in an effort to provide more flexibility, PGA Professionals will have the ability to play in their own marathons during any month of the year. PGA Professionals and all other willing supporters are asked to register to play 100 holes of golf in one day. Participating PGA Professionals and golfers are kindly asked to request donations from their members, customers, students, and the like, to support their marathon fundraising efforts.
