Thirteen Philadelphia PGA Professionals to Compete in PGA Professional Championship

The 2021 PGA Professional Championship is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 25 - Wednesday, April 28 at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla., where 13 Philadelphia PGA Professionals will compete for the Walter Hagen Cup and playing spots in the 2021 PGA Championship. Join us in rooting for Trevor Bensel, Ashley Grier, Terry Hertzog, Alex Knoll, Michael Little, Hugo Mazzalupi, Zac Oakley, John Pillar, Parks Price, Mark Sheftic, Rich Steinmetz, Andrew Turner, and Brett Walker! Television times are: Sunday, April 25, Golf Channel 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.; Monday, April 26, Golf Channel 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.; Tuesday, April 27, Golf Channel 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.; and Wednesday, April 28, Golf Channel 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. To follow the action, click here.

Vital, Philadelphia PGA Junior Tour Member, Breaks Snead's Record at Reading C.C.

Fifteen-year-old Matthew Vital shot a 62 to Sam Snead's course record at Reading C.C. during a Philadelphia PGA Junior Tour event on April 17! Vital, who also won his age group in the 2019 Drive, Chip & Putt Championship, made nine birdies and one bogey to finish at 8-under-par and win his age division by 14 strokes. Philadelphia Assistants' Organization Update

The Philadelphia Assistants Organization (PAO) is off to a great start in 2021! The organization has hosted two terrific events to start off the year with many more to come. The PAO Spring Meeting Golf Event at Whitford C.C. and the PAO Virtual Spring Meeting with special guest speaker Michael Breed. Our main goal is to support our mission statement of engaging assistants professionals with rewarding experiences through networking, education, and tournament competition. Little Wins 2021 TPD Championship

Lookaway G.C. PGA Head Professional Michael Little won the 2021 Philadelphia PGA Tournament Players Division (TPD) Championship at Little Mill Country Club, the Section’s first Rolex Player of the Year Points event of the season. Little, the reigning Philadelphia PGA Player of the Year, finished with four birdies and 22 points in the modified Stableford scoring format, one point ahead of defending champion Parks Price, C.C. of York. A trio finished tied for third with 20 points each: Jordan Shuey, West Shore C.C., Stu Ingraham, MGolf Range & Learning Center, and Alex Knoll, Glen Brook G.C. To read more, click here.

PGA REACH Philadelphia Pro-Am Scheduled for July 26 at Bidermann Golf Club

It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the second annual PGA REACH Philadelphia Pro-Am Championship on Monday, July 26 at the exclusive Bidermann Golf Club in Wilmington, Del. Proceeds of the pro-am will go to support PGA REACH Philadelphia's programming, such as PGA Jr. League, PGA HOPE for military veterans, Golf in Schools, the Philadelphia PGA Junior Tour Diversity Scholarship, and more. Teams consisting of one PGA Professional and three amateur partners will compete in a one best ball of four format on the beautiful and highly acclaimed golf course. The Section and its Women’s Committee recently introduced its Women’s Series, a new initiative for 2021 designed to encourage networking and camaraderie among women PGA Professionals in the Section. The events are open to all women PGA Members, Associates, and Students and LPGA members; women amateurs are also invited to participate in select Women’s Series events. PGA REACH Philadelphia's Golf & Give Series is back for 2021, allowing PGA-staffed golf facilties to host outings to help replace lost tournaments, outings, and / or events due to the ongoing pandemic.
