5th Annual House & Garden Tour
a huge success!

Thanks to the homeowners who opened their lovely homes and gardens, the Society’s annual House & Garden Tour fundraiser was a major success, raising over $13,000. These funds go right back into the Lewis House to maintain and enhance this historic house and grounds. Our success is dependent on these generous homeowners, the many, many volunteers who helped to plan this special event and who worked hours on the day of tour to make it all work smoothly, and our generous corporate sponsors who helped cover the costs of the event. Thank you community!

New floor for NHS toolshed

A huge thank you to Joe Porter and the Norwich Eagle Scouts who recently installed a new plank floor in the Lewis House’s tool shed. The new floor provides better storage and easier access to our historic tool collection. Joe raised the funds and materials to make the project possible without cost to NHS, and organized a team of Scouts to install it over several workdays. Special thanks to David Ferm for donating quality recycled flooring in keeping with the historical nature of the building.

Cycles of Change: Farming in Norwich

We hope you will visit us to see our newest exhibit: Cycles of Change: Farming in Norwich, presented in collaboration with the Norwich Historic Preservation Commission, which features Chad Finer’s outstanding photographs of Norwich farmers, a video by Norwich’s Ben Silberfarb, oral histories of present day farmers, and objects from the NHS collection. The exhibit pays tribute to the long, rich history of farming in our town, past and present.

Seeking donations of antique treasures

An important part of the Norwich Antiques Show's financial success is the money raised at Society's own booth where we sell donated items from community members. It's time to scour your attic for antiques and collectibles to donate. You can bring items in on Wednesdays and Thursdays, August, 13, 14, 20, 21 (10am - 4pm) and Saturdays, August 16 and 23 (10am - Noon). Other times may be arranged by appointment. Call us at 802-649-0124 or email: info@norwichhistory.org.
