A Summer Intern’s Note....
At the beginning of the summer between my sophomore and junior years at Johns Hopkins University, I got news that I was chosen to be the summer intern at the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts Foundation. I was very excited for the opportunity as Non-Profit organizations have always been an interest of mine and I was eager to learn more.
And learn I did. This summer I have learned that the foundation does more than just give grants to students. This summer I learned just how much patience and fine tuning it takes to run such an organization. From reaching out to alumni or planning events, Mimi gave me opportunities to truly become a part of the Foundation. Even organizing deposits, or updating contact sheets, everything counts and you can see it pay off when you interact with the students of the Summer Arts Academy and meet the possible next generation of Barbara Ingram School for the Arts.
Being a student at Barbara Ingram gave me tools for success, and I am happy to say that after working with Mimi and Linda this summer, I feel I have gained many more.
