Foundation Events


On Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM, delight all of your senses with the sights and sounds of local artists while sampling culinary treats at various downtown venues. Entertainment by Barbara Ingram School for the Arts students & other talented local artists.

Get your passport ticket stamped at every venue and be eligible to win a variety of prizes! Bring your stamped passport to the Washington County Arts Council when completed visits at all venues. Tickets sold at The Maryland Theatre box office and all venues are within walking distance of City Center.

Taste of the Arts benefits The Maryland Theatre, Barbara Ingram School for the Arts Foundation, and Washington County Arts Council.  Tickets are $20 until the day of the event, and then they will be $25.

Foundation Programs

2017 Summer Arts Academy:  Registration is NOW OPEN for the 2017 Summer Arts Academy.  This is the Foundation's 7th year to sponsor this program.  There are 11 programs being offered this year.  Space is limited in some programs, so sign up early.  Application and Program descriptions have been posted on the foundation's web site, please click here:

Foundation News

"National Teacher Appreciation Day"
We would like to thank all of the teachers at the
Barbara Ingram School for the Arts, for their hard work and continued
dedication in molding your children's lives in a positive direction. 

At the May 4th Board meeting, our Board Vice President Susan Wood, was presented with a sterling silver & rose gold Butterfly necklace for her $5,000 match towards Washington County Gives.  The Butterfly pendant was designed by R. Bruce Carson Jewelers for the Foundation's first Civic Arts project "Take Flight" in 2009.  Susan is a valued member of our Board and we appreciate all that she has given to the Foundation.

The Barbara Ingram Foundation has a non-paid student internship position this summer from June until August. The starting and ending dates are flexible. The candidate would work 10-12 hours a week. They would not work on Friday. The candidate would learn the fundamentals of a non-profit organization. Duties would include but not limited to: writing press releases, organize paper work, assist in the Summer Arts Academy, research grant opportunities and update alumni lists. Deadline May 19, 2017.

Foundation Fundraising

We have extended the deadline to May, 31, 2017....The Foundation has sponsored the Summer Arts Academy since 2011.  Under this program the Summer Arts Academy welcomes students in grades 7-12 from all areas in MD, VA, PA, and WV to participate in programs such as Rock Band Orchestra, Dance, Guitar, Piano, Vocal, Creative Writing, Musical Theater, and Visual Arts. 

A sponsorship will help to provide the funding for guest speakers/master classes and other materials needed to enhance this program. If you are interested in being a sponsor for the Summer Arts Academy, please clink on the form below to print a copy to fill out and send in.

BISFA Student News
Barbara Ingram School for the Arts is ranked 9th within Maryland. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® course work and exams. The AP® participation rate at Barbara Ingram School for the Arts is 82 percent. The student body makeup is 24 percent male and 76 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 23 percent. Barbara Ingram School for the Arts is 1 of 8 high schools in the Washington County Public Schools.

Our Alumni are doing GREAT THINGS.....
Krista Hastings, completed her Sophomore Recital at the Westminster Choir College in Princeton New Jersey on Saturday April 15th.  This is an honor performance reserved for upper class Vocal Performance majors. Pictured here with Kyle Weary of BISFA and Dr. Kathy Price of WCC. Krista will be attending the Oxford Institute this summer with Dr. James Jordan and  Williamson Voices.
