Exciting News

We have been busy behind the scenes refining the SCAS story and visual identity. We are excited to share our brand new look with you in the coming month - so stay tuned!

2019 Craven Week

SCAS had an opportunity to place chaperones with each of the 46 teams at the under 18 Craven & Academy Week in Bloemfontein. It was an incredible privilege of ministering and serving the 1380 players and coaches from all over Southern Africa. After the 3-day training camp the chaperones were strategically placed with a team based on where they’re from. They started SCAS huddles with their teams and hopefully will continue with it when they return home.

Going into the tournament our prayer was that God would open doors for us to share the gospel with the players and coaches. That came about in a wonderful way. The teams were invited to a church service on the Sunday evening before the tournament started, where more than 600 players committed and/or recommitted their lives to God. During the week our chaperones followed up with Bible studies as well as one-on-one conversations.
We are very grateful to all the chaperones who volunteered and gave up time to be trained and serve at the Cravenweek. The way the chaperones worked together as a team set the example for the players and their teams. Thank you, gentlemen, we are very proud of you, you served with distinction!

This is what some of our chaperones said about

their experience as they served with SCAS

“It’s mind blowing every time I get to be part of SCAS outreaches. When I think I am just there to give it all in serving, I have always gotten something from God, nothing tangible, but a confidence to boast in Him”

- Siphosethu Magqadaza
“My highlight was how I saw a team of diverse individuals from different schools, demographical backgrounds and cultures come together as one, both in the name of Christ and in rugby. God gave me the opportunity to learn something from SCAS and from 23 schoolboys. From this I learnt to be more open-minded as well as help those in need without expecting anything in return.”

- Sven Benson
