Looking for an outing for your small group or troop?

Where is your school group, day camp, scout troop or other kid's group going this spring and summer? How about a visit to the Tampa Firefighters Museum and Tampa Fire Station #1? The kids will get to look around the fire museum and learn about the way things 'used to be'. Then, when available, walk across the street to see modern fire trucks and real firefighters.

Celebrating the Women of Tampa Fire Rescue!

The Tampa Fire Museum isn't just for the boys - our museum even has a special exhibit that reflects the contributions made by female firefighters.

This National Women's History Month, and every month, we at the Tampa Firefighters Museum are proud of our partnership with the Women of Tampa Fire Rescue.
Spring Cleaning for Fire Safety...
Springing our clocks forward provides a timely reminder to do some spring cleaning for fire safety.  In addition to checking the batteries on our smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, you should do the following:
  • Clean your garage of stored newspapers or other rubbish that can fuel a fire
  • Do a yard sweep - keep outdoor debris or dead vegetation away from the house
  • Use outdoor barbecue grills with caution. Place in a safe area away from building, windows, heating, ventilation and air conditioning units or places with high/dead vegetation
