Though January 1st marks the start of a new calendar year, the 'new year' arrives in early September to the world of academia. The Think & Eat Green team is eager to update you on continuing projects as well as fresh starts in the Think & Eat Green @ School program, and more!

In order to deliver a variety of content to your mailbox, we are always open to recieving information straight from the source - you! 
We want to tell the very best of Think & Eat Green online, and we can only do so with the help of Think & Eat Green members who are 'on the ground' engaged in the amazing work of this community-university research alliance.

Request for Proposals Now Open–
Small Grants Available to Become a Think&Eat Green School!

Get ready for Think & Eat Green @ School 2013! The team is currently accepting proposals to enhance how local Vancouver schools think and eat green. Any school can participate by becoming a “Think&EatGreen School” (including schools who have already partaken in the project) and receive a grant of up to $2,000 + other support to initiate or expand food initiatives. You will continue to recieve updates about past and current Think & Eat Green schools through this newsletter as well as at thinkeatgreen.ca, so stay tuned for the fresh photos, reports, and stories to come.

Pass on this notification to any and all - applications must be received no later than Monday, October 29th 2012 at high noon.

Watch the TAEG website for an update on the Food Practices on School Days Study. Data collected from Vancouver students is being processed and the team working on this project is eager to share a summary of the research with you. To learn more about the research team and some of the key research topics of focus, stay tuned!

Informational Teleconference October 22nd

Application available at www.phabc.org/farmtoschool or www.aitc.ca/bc .  Open to all schools in BC, max. $10 000 .


F2S Planning Grants Open for Applications -
Deadline October 29th

Funding has been made available through the Vancity enviroFund for the planning of Farm to School programs. Up to three lucky schools from North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Vancouver, Richmond or Langley will be chosen to pilot Farm to School programs. More information is available here.



Evergreen School Ground Greening/ Garden Grants - Deadline November 16th
These grants are open to schools across Canada. More information is available at www.evergreen.ca.


BC Green Games Grants - Registration Deadline November 30th
Environmental Action contest with cash prizes.  Check out bcgreengames.ca for more information.
