   A Note from Pastor Tim

Jesus’ brother James wrote:
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world” (James 1:27, NIV).
This is the religion that we try to practice at The Well Church. We are a church that puts humanitarian needs of those in our communities at the forefront. This is what God has put on my heart and we will strive to do all that we can do to make an impact in the lives of others.
This past weekend, a load of food was taken down to CCA (that came from your donations and support). While shopping for the food, there was a couple in the checkout line at Wal-Mart who informed the shoppers from The Well that they have been out of work and utilize the CCA pantry.  The man said that by mid week, many of the shelves are empty.  This was heartbreaking to hear. It didn’t really hit me how much need there is in each of our communities until I heard of this divine encounter at a Wal-Mart of all places.
We have a worldwide mission, but we also have the ability to minister and help right in our own back yards. Please know that I am committed to you and to the Lord to use this ministry to be faith in action. Each of you is a part of this organism (not organization) called the church. It is our goal to make The Well a living, breathing, life-giving church of believers centered on Christ as the head, where every person matters. It doesn’t stop there. I want to encourage each and everyone to be the church outside of the building. Your prayers, support, love, and encouragement to others will never go unnoticed.
While talking to the man in Wal-Mart, one of our shoppers looked at the other with sadness and said, “we have to do something for them”.
This reminded me of another passage that James wrote, which is this:
“If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
But someone will say, ‘You have faith; I have deeds.’
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds."
  (James 2:16-18, NIV)
One of the shoppers from The Well took the other shopper's suggestion and spoke to the man at Wal-Mart about his faith as they quietly blessed him and his wife with a Wal-Mart gift card before the couple left.
This is what God calls each of us to do. We are to be a church who’s faith is known by it’s humanitarian deeds. People’s physical needs have to be addressed before they are willing to listen to your faith.
God bless each and every one of you!
Your brother in Christ,
Pastor Tim Vanderwater

Donations Needed for Genesis Women's Shelter

We are still taking donations to assist the Genesis Women's Shelter. This includes school supplies, women's clothing, and a list of other needs. Sandra has graciously taken the donations to the shelter and will continue to take more periodically. The link to their current needs can be found here:

Please consider helping us with the great causes. If you prefer to donate money, we will be happy to make purchases on behalf of The Well.

Thank you for helping us take care of the orphans and widows (James 1:27)
May the Lord Bless you and and you families! We look forward to seeing you!
