WellSpring All Set to Cool Down!

WellSpring is no longer hot and bothered (in fact, we're super-cool)!

A big THANK YOU to all those who contributed towards the cost of an air conditioner for the Resource Room. We have raised enough money and it will be installed in August, ready for the hot months ahead!
Living Until We Die

A few places left for THIS Saturday 26 July 2014, 10am to 4pm

Dying is part of life, but often hard to talk about. Perhaps even more challenging is to walk alongside those who are nearing the end of life as pastor, chaplain, spiritual director, pastoral carer, family or friend.

How can we encourage each other in embracing both living and dying?

There are just a couple of places left in this Saturday’s seminar on 'Living Until We Die'.

With highly respected presenters Heather Tan and Graeme Garrett, it promises to be a valuable and informative time exploring the journey towards end of life. Click for more details or to book in for this seminar before this weekend.

Gen Y @ Y Street // GROW

WellSpring will combine with GROW at Ashburton Baptist to host the following two events for young people:

  • Caring for Creation: Gen Y Responses
    (Facilitator: Rowena Curtis)
    Thursday 31 July, 7 to 9pm

How can we actively care for the earth and respond to the ecological crisis? We will explore engaging our whole selves as Christians in caring for creation.
  • Embodied Faith for Gen Y
    (Facilitator: Alex Sangster)
Thursday 23 October, 7 to 9pm (NB: Note change of date)

We will be challenged to reconnect with our whole selves through drama, movement and song, and explore what it means to be an ‘incarnated being’ present in the world.
Click here to book in for either of these sessions.

People from the GROW community, contact Lucy Johnson for more information.

Soul Parenting

Thursday 7 August, 7.15 for 7.30pm

Susan Campbell is a mother of a toddler and newborn, is a WellSpring Spiritual Director and loves to read about, talk about and practice spirituality. She found Soul Parenting 2013 an enriching experience and is looking forward to more gems of insight, spaces of reflection and great community at Soul Parenting 2014.

Keren McClelland is an ordained Baptist pastor working at Ashburton Baptist Church and mother to two high school aged children. She grew up the NE Victorian goldfields with a love for the land, has lived in Japan and is a keen reader and gardener. She strongly believes contemplative practices are for people at any stage of life.

We will be engaging in some playful dreaming about the future – our vocation, hopes and expectations for our children – and considering how the roles we take on Today may impact their Tomorrow.

Make sure you arrive in time to meet others and get a cuppa at 7.15pm. Our session will begin at 7.30pm.

Book online here.

Please book and pay online here (we do require prior bookings to help us know how many to cater for!)

WellSpring welcomes volunteers!

There are many ways of being part of WellSpring – volunteering is an opportunity to share your time and gifts in this life-giving ministry.

A very important role for volunteers is in the WellSpring Reception office. This is often where people first enter WellSpring and we want to welcome them warmly and well. The volunteer also helps keep WellSpring running smoothly with assistance with bookings, enquiries etc. Most people volunteer half a day a week or fortnight and we currently have gaps on the afternoons of Monday, Thursday and Friday.

The aim is to have someone present each day of the week; if you would like to find out more contact Ann at ann.lock@wellspringcentre.org.au or on (03) 9885 0277.
