  • Faculty Senate:The Faculty Senate will meet today, Thursday, for an open session on COVID-19. Provost Persis Drell will present a report on university budget and workforce issues related to the pandemic. The meeting will begin at 3:15 p.m. via Zoom. Discussion is limited to members of the senate, but members of the Stanford community may request to register for the Zoom session by contacting Adrienne Emory, at
  • Virtual background contest: Cardinal at Work is hosting a Zoom virtual background contest. Take a screen grab of you with your background and upload it to the contest form on the Cardinal at Work website. Images must be an original — a photograph you have personally taken or an image you have created — and submitted by Friday, April 24. You could win a $25 gift card. Submit your background.
  • New fellowships, internships: To support Stanford students working in the area of contemporary Asia, the Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center is offering up to 10 research assistant internships for summer 2020 and up to three predoctoral fellowships for the 2020-21 academic year.
