Stanford spring quarter will begin virtually

President Marc Tessier-Lavigne has announced that spring quarter classes will begin on time, but will use virtual learning rather than in-person classes until further notice. To reduce the possible spread of COVID-19, students are being asked to leave campus at the end of winter quarter, if possible. The university, however, will remain open.

  • Re-striping work: The work that will return the outgoing left turn lane from Serra Street to El Camino Real is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, beginning at 6:30 a.m. The scope of work will include grinding to remove thermoplastic, adding thermoplastic directional arrows, removing epoxied buttons and re-installing new buttons. Setup of signage and cones will begin at 6:30 a.m., and loud work (grinding and thermoplastic application) will not begin until 9 a.m. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control.   • Wellness Fairs: BeWell has rescheduled the March 19 Wellness Fair on the Main Campus for Aug. 12 and the April 16 Wellness Fair in Stanford Redwood City for July 29. Learn more.

  • Stanford has encouraged cancellation, postponement or livestreaming of events likely to attract 150 or more people through April 15. Check the Stanford Events calendar for updates on specific events.
