HERBi shared services tool seeks beta-testers
The HEFCE-funded ‘HERBi’ project, which will help institutions to understand the potential costs and savings of shared services arrangements, is almost ready for launch. And project manager Simon Perks is looking for volunteers to test the interactive tool before it goes live.

Open data mashup | 17 November

The event

Universities and developers will be brought together for an open data mashup day on 17 November, hosted by Universities UK, working in partnership with the Open Data Institute and Jisc.

Staff from higher education institutions developers and designers are invited to register for the event, which will explore the value of working with open data. Read more >


The challenge

The mashup organisers are launching a challenge to developers in universities and the digital industries to visualise an app that uses open data to help university students navigate key points in their 'student journey'.

Finalists will be able to attend the mashup day with the potential to win development support of up to £5,000. Read more >
