August in Michigan is a very special time, as the weekly markets explode with probably the widest variety of local produce we'll see all year. Best way to celebrate? I think you might have an idea.

A Note from Lisa 
July was Sister Pie's best month yet in our recorded history. I don't say it enough, but THANK YOU - it's all you SP Super Fans who make this growth possible. My goal is to maintain the Sister Pie commitment to quality food baked with love and care. I couldn't be more excited for the future of our bakery, and I want to ensure that any movement is careful, thoughtful, and always in the interest of creating a great workplace and a fantastic place to eat. xoxo
SISTER PIE IS BUILDING A NEW HOME! 
We are so happy to report that we've found a brick-and-mortar space for Sister Pie. After months of hanging out in the West Village with our friends over at Parker Street Market, we decided that it was a neighborhood where we'd like to put roots down. We'll be building out and renovating the space to create a bakery with lots of pie, cookies, breakfast pastries, granolas, salads, sandwiches, and more. It's gonna be great, and we can't wait to the share the whole journey with you! 

FYI: we'll continue to operate out of Hannan House until #futuresisterpie is ready to go!

HERE IS THE AUGUST MENU. 

The Blueberry Plum Balsamic pie is an absolute powerhouse of summer fruit flavors. The combination of two excellent sweet-tart fruits create a jammy, beautiful filling. Subtle notes of caramel and spice are brought out with the help of raw sugar, balsamic vinegar, and a few grinds of black pepper.  

We're bringing back last year's popular Ginger Peach Biscuit pie. Juicy Michigan peaches are mixed with grated fresh ginger, light brown sugar, and lemon juice to create a warm filling with a kick. We top the pile of peaches with a biscuit dough made with browned butter, cornmeal, and buttermilk. Serve with freshly whipped cream and you might just float into a pie cloud of happiness. 

The Salted Maple pie is Sister Pie's signature flavor, as it's something we can make year-round...and everybody loves it. Sister Pie's signature flavor. Chock-full of creamy Grade B maple syrup filling and topped with flaky Maldon sea salt, this pie is simplicity at its finest. 

Ratatouille Pie, anyone? This savory pie was created for the Detroit Grown & Made campaign (see more info on this below!) and it is one of the best ways we can think of to celebrate summer vegetables. We create layers of flavors by gently sauteeing eggplants, onions, tomatoes, zucchini, and bell peppers with plenty of fresh herbs until they turn into a stew. The crust is herb-y too, with our own special "Herbes de Detroit" blend cut right into the dough. C'est magnifique! Serve with a dollop of goat cheese.

We are thrilled to introduce our special savory offering for August - the Ratatouille Pie, made with as much locally grown Detroit produce as we can fit into a crust! Through a special collaboration organized by FoodLab Detroit and Keep Growing Detroit, food businesses in the city are highlighting produce from the Grown in Detroit gardens and farms. We are proud to be part of this great campaign!

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:
Each week, you'll have the opportunity to pre-order pies and cookies by Tuesday at 5pm. When you make your selection, you'll be given the option of date and location.

EASTERN MARKET GOIN' STRONG!
Have you visited us at Eastern Market on Tuesdays yet? We always have a wonderful time meeting new SP fans and dancing with friends. We bring 6" sweet pies, buckwheat chocolate chip cookies, savory hand pies, and breakfast treats! Come on down to Shed 2 this Tuesday and try a pie from the new August menu.

The Eastern Market Parking Garage is now FREE due to the construction.
