Presiding Bishop Calls for Prayer

Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry has called for a season of prayer for regions of the Anglican Communion which are experiencing violence and civil strife.

“In this season of Resurrection, I call on everyone to pray for our brothers and sisters in areas where there is much burden and little hope,” the Presiding Bishop said.

Summer Camp - Not Just for Kids!

Just because your kids are all grown up doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the many summer camp offerings of the Camp and Retreat Ministries of Oregon and Idaho. What about signing up for one of many “family camp” opportunities, and inviting your children and/or grandchildren?

Here is an excerpt from the latest news from our diocesan camp system:

As family camp programs have shown over and over again, time to get away as a family has a positive, ripple effect on our communities by creating the space for which relationships can be established and then cultivated outward. One prime way these kinds of healthy family vacations do this is by reducing the experience of stress families have. Healthy family vacations do this by offering:
  • a fresh and different perspective on the stressors in family life (money, work, health, etc)
  • connection with others
  • engagement with the outdoors
  • reduced screen time and increased person-to-person time
The invitation is to consider the actual dollar-to-dollar value of intentional vacationing and attend one of the programmed family events or to create your own family reunion! Without the added pressures of in-your-face marketing, overcrowding, and extreme travel distances, your family will come back actually renewed, having had fun and spent meaningful time with one another and God in beautiful settings.

Godly Play Sunday at 6 PM April 10

This week (we had to cancel last week) the children will learn about Communion as they explore World Communion Sunday. Godly Play presents our faith to children with hands on storytelling. Janet Robinson is the lead story teller and Jaqueline Pérez assists. Bring children to Godly Play while you attend the 6:00 PM bi-lingual service.

More about Godly Play at St. Catherine's here.
