It's Time For Profit Distributions!

Second Quarter is done, what needs to happen next?

July 11th, 2017

Hi <<First Name>>

It is that time of year, another quarter has come and gone so it is time to wrap things up.  If you are on Profit First that means you get to write yourself a check and celebrate!  Not yet on Profit First?  Find out more here: and contact us if you have questions.

Other things to think about at the end of the quarter? Make sure all quarterly payroll tax payments are made and forms submitted.  If you are making estimated tax payments it will be time for a payment.  Now is a great time to review budgets and forecasts that you have been following since the beginning of the year.

Polymath Specializing in Adventure

Many accounting professionals have an industry specialization. Some common areas of specialty include restaurants, construction, non-profits, vineyards, retail, wholesale, and other industries that have special needs that require ongoing continuing education to keep up with technology and legislation.

Did you know that Polymath specializes in cultural and adventure tour companies? While this niche focus does not mean that we work exclusively with these businesses, it does mean that we are particularly well suited for these clients. We are experts in cloud software that greatly facilitates operating a business from anywhere, including managing cash spending in multiple currencies. Also, as Certified Profit First Professionals, we have the tools and knowledge to help seasonal businesses budget effectively and plan ahead.

We can help many kinds of tour companies take their business to the next level, whether they are small, local bike, wine, or rafting trips all the way up to taking groups on safari in far of lands. We have recently started a FREE Facebook group to support business and financial conversations for this industry. If you know any tour operators, please forward them this newsletter. They will thank you for it!

Intuit is "sundowning" some of their older products.  The biggest announcement here is that Intuit will not be releasing any new versions of QuickBooks for Mac.  The last version released was 2016 and that software will be supported through May of 2019.

In addition to these changes with QuickBooks for Mac, at the end of May all QuickBooks 2014 software ceased being supported or updated.  That means if you are using payroll, credit card processing, or online banking these services no longer work.  It may be time to look into upgrading your software or transitioning to QuickBooks Online.  As we mentioned in this Polymath blog post one of the advantages to being in QBO is that you no longer need to update your software.
