Hi <<First Name>>
Your tax accountant needs to plan their time!
There are some tax deadlines that have already come and gone and some tax deadlines coming up quickly. Keep in mind that your tax accountant is a working professional just like you, and they need to be able to plan their time in advance. If you are waiting to contact your accountant, don't! Even if you know you are not ready, that is information they need to have.
See below for the filing deadlines. Not sure which entity type you fall into? That is a great question to ask when you contact your tax accountant.
Where is the S-Corp deadline? That already passed in March! If your business is an S-corporation and you haven't filed yet, be sure to contact your accountant right away so you can plan for the best course of action at this point. You will need your business tax return completed before you can file your personal return.
- April 18th (the weekend bought us a little time here!) - filing deadline for individuals and C-Corps. This includes businesses operating as sole proprietors.
- May 15th - 990 filing deadline for Non Profits.
- September 15th - deadline for partnerships and S-Corps that filed an extension.
- October 15th - deadline for individuals who filed and extension.
