Hi everyone!

It's March, and Spring is in the Air! As well as the clocks changing, and a partial solar eclipse to look forward to, we have a bunch of great workshops and activities for you to get involved in!

We're at two science-based events this month, and it would be great if you could drop in and help us out. We have our regular groups and sessions, and a fantastic Mini-Amplifier Workshop, courtesy of Matt Little!

Mini-Amplifier Workshop!

Build a small amplifier to give volume to your projects!

Use it to amplifiy an MP3 player, make your arduino speak or make your scales talk.

This workshop will be on Tuesday 24th March at 7:30pm. Depending on your soldering skills this kit will take around 1 hour to build and test. This workshop is aimed at all levels, and we will be on-hand to help and teach you to solder if you haven't before!

This workshop will cost £5 (plus booking fee). Book online

NB: Amp pictured may not accurately represent final project.

Photography Group!

Our next Photography Group is on Monday, 6th April, where you can show off your existing photos, talk about the best way to get better photos, and just generally geek out about cameras, from approximately 7:30 onwards! Find out more on the site!

Retro Computing Fun!

Our Retro Computing group is really taking off!  With Amigas, Spectrums, and Macintoshes everywhere, their next meeting is Thursday, 19th March. Find out more on our site!

Stitch and Bitch!

Bring your knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning, cross-stitch, embroidery, nalbinding, kumihimo, rope-making, for an evening of crafty fun in the comfy area. Next session is on Tuesday, 17th March from 7pm. Find out more on our site!

Comics Making Group!

Our next meet is on Thursday, 5th March, from 7pm. This is aimed at anyone interested in making comics, from writing to drawing. You don’t need to be able to draw to come to this workshop, stick figures are welcome! Join in on the discussion at our Facebook group!

Join us at these events!

We're going to be attending and exhibiting projects at two fantastic science events in Nottingham this month.

If you can join us to help out or show off a project, that would be great!

Science in the Park - Saturday 21st March

This year's Science in the Park takes place on Saturday 21st March at Wollaton Hall. Aimed at families and the general public, it's a great event which we have attended as Nottingham Hackspace before, and this year we'll be running a stall showcasing cool science projects and activities.

If you'd like to get involved, let us know on the
Google Group.

Science Fayre - Nottingham City Library - Saturday, 25 March

This event is a hands-on science event for all ages, and Nottingham Hackspace will be there to show off what you can do with a hackspace!

Taking place at the Angel Row library, you can find out more on our Google Group.

Coming up in April:

Maker Faire UK - Life Science Centre, Newcastle - 25-26 April

Yes, we will be at Maker Faire again! With dozens of exhibits, hundreds of makers, and amazing things to see and do, Maker Faire is two days of excitement, and we'll be there with projects and information about our hackspace.

Tickets are available now for visitors, and if you want to help out on the days at the hackspace booth, follow this Google Group thread for more information.

Rollo Dance Academy Exams

Our upstairs neighbours at Rollo Dance Academy have an exam day this month on Sunday 15th March. Please avoid making noise on that day!
