Hi everyone!

Have you seen the new Comfy Area? With new tables, shelving, and that carpet, it's really made a difference in how the place feels. And we hope you're enjoying it!

We have a busy month ahead of us, with workshops and events for everyone, and we're planning for future events as well!

Introduction to Arduino!

Our extremely popular Introduction to Arduino workshops are back!

On Saturday, 21st February, you can learn how to use Arduinos to add electronic controls into your projects. Aimed for complete beginners, you'll learn how to use the Arduino software and hardware, with all the electronics equipment provided on the day. Just bring your laptop and the urge to learn and you can learn how to program your Arduino!

Tickets cost £16 and are available now. Arduino Unos and Starter Kits will also be available to purchase on the day if you bring cash.

This is a very popular workshop, so please book now!

Make Your Own PCB!

Dr. Matt Little, Hackspace member, is going to be hosting a workshop on Monday, 23 February, on how to make your own Printed Circuit Board from scratch.

You will be making a simple Arduino-style prototyping board using photo-resist board and ferric chloride etching. Perfect for prototyping, you'll get all the materials and components you need to make a simple Arduino-like board for only £12.95!

Tickets are available now and are limited, so if you do want to go, you should book now.

For more information on the PCB etching process, read Matt Little's blog!

Photography Group!

Our next Photography Group is today - 2nd February, where you can show off your existing photos, talk about the best way to get better photos, and just generally geek out about cameras, from approximately 7:30 onwards! Find out more on the site!

Retro Computing Fun!

Our Retro Computing group is really taking off!  With Amigas, Spectrums, and Macintoshes everywhere, their next meeting is Thursday, 19th February. Find out more on our site!

Stitch and Bitch!

Bring your knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning, cross-stitch, embroidery, nalbinding, kumihimo, rope-making, for an evening of crafty fun in the comfy area. Next session is on Tuesday, 17th February from 7pm. Find out more on our site!

Join us at these events!

We're getting ready for some big events, and we would love it if you would help out!

When we take the Hackspace out to show to members of the public, we always like to have amazing things and friendly people to be there and show off how awesome the Hackspace can be. And if you can join us, that makes you awesome too!

We'll be at the following events in the upcoming months:

Science Fayre - Nottingham City Library - Saturday, 25 March

This event is a hands-on science event for all ages, and Nottingham Hackspace will be there to show off what you can do with a hackspace!

Taking place at the Angel Row library, you can find out more on our Google Group.

Maker Faire UK - Life Science Centre, Newcastle - 25-26 April

Yes, we will be at Maker Faire again! With dozens of exhibits, hundreds of makers, and amazing things to see and do, Maker Faire is two days of excitement, and we'll be there with projects and information about our hackspace.

Tickets are available now for visitors, and if you want to help out on the days at the hackspace booth, follow this Google Group thread for more information.
