Hi everyone!

It's October, and you know what that means - HACK-O-WEEN!

We're also working to get a brand new 3D printer, enjoying all our regular groups, and still finding freaking red rabbits everywhere.

What's the best holiday for people who like to make awesome things? It's got to be Halloween!

From elaborate jack-o-lanterns to complicated costumes to entire haunted houses, Halloween is a maker's dream, and what better place for a Halloween party than your Nottingham Hackspace!

Yes, that's right, we'll be having a Halloween party on Friday, 31 October, from roughly 7pm onwards. There will be snacks, drinks, jack-o-lanterns, spooky movies, scary music, and a costume contest!

Show up in your best outfit, and get ready to scare everyone!

3D printer pledge drive!

We've been talking lot about 3D printing lately, and how to increase capacity in the space to enable members to print their own designs. We already have a working RepRap printer in the space, and now we're looking to buy an Ultimaker Original+. Having two printers in the space will allow us to offer a simple print and go service (kind of!) as well as the opportunity to experiment with different materials and techniques.

The project will cost around £1400, and to support it, we're holding a pledge drive! If you'd like to get involved in 3D printing, and you'd like to support the pledge, find out more on the Google Group, or on the wiki.

Rabbits everywhere!

If you've been to the Hackspace recently, or - let's face it - pretty much anywhere, you've probably stumbled on a tiny starry-eyed plastic rabbit. Well, it seems they are spreading wide and far, and recently became Internet Famous in this Vice article online.

If the internet is the natural habitat of kittens, it seems that Hackspaces are becoming the breeding ground of bunnies. As it says in the article, we can't name names, but we know who is responsible, you probably know who is responsible, and they must be stopped!

This Month's Groups!
