We hope you had a great holiday break and have some amazing ideas you can't wait to try out at the space!
Whether you want to learn a new skill, try out a new tool, or finally finish off that project you keep on saying you're working on, make your 2015 Resolution to spend more time at the space!
And the space is making its own resolutions too! Along with some great groups you can join, we're finally starting to revamp the comfy area!
Hack The Comfy Area Day - Sunday, 11 January!
It's been rumoured, it's been discussed, and now it's happening - we're changing the Comfy Area!
Don't worry - it's still going to be the perfect place to relax, have a snack, surf the web, knit, read a book, play an instrument, watch a bad movie, or some strange multi-tasking combination of all the above, but now it's going to be even cosier, with carpeting and new furniture making it clean, comfortable, and (hopefully) warmer!
Stage 1 involves laying down carpet tiles, and we definitely need your help! We'll be moving furniture, laying down hardboard, then laying down carpet tiles on top of that, as well as building new furniture, organising the library, and generally cleaning up the area, and we need many hands to make light work!
If you can stop in and help at any time, that would be amazing. We'll be starting approximately around 10, and lunch will be provided.
So if you want a comfier comfy area, come help out!
If you can't make it on Sunday, we'll be starting the clear-out on Wednesday, so if you can move books or museum pieces, come along to our Open Night and give us a hand!
What would you like to learn this year?
Looking for a new skill, or want to refine an existing one? Why not check out our regular groups?
Our next Photography Group is on 2nd February, where you can show off your existing photos, talk about the best way to get better photos, and just generally geek out about cameras, from approximately 7:30 onwards!
Stitch and Bitch!
Bring your knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning, cross-stitch, embroidery, nalbinding, kumihimo, rope-making, for an evening of crafty fun in the comfy area. Next session is on the 20th January from 7pm.
Retro Computing Fun!
