Hello community leaders,

It is important that I take a moment to advise against hosting any Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator games in person due to the current global and national health crisis. In Canada, we have begun measures to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus disease, one is to social distance to break the chain of any transmission.

Social distancing measures are approaches taken to minimize close contact with others in the community and include: quarantine and self-isolation at the individual level as well as other community based approaches (e.g. avoiding crowding, school measures and closures, workplace measures and closures, public/mass gathering cancellations) which are further described in the section titled community-based measures in a link below. [1]

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve around the world and in our local community, a safe space for members remains a value for this community of players. Based on the recommendations of our regional, provincial and federal health care leaders, I believe the decisions you are going to make, are in the best interest of our communities, and our collective health and safety.

More information regarding the upcoming fleet level games in April will follow this week. I plan to explore some options to play altogether that doesn't require your crew to be together in one room. Certainly, that will present with some challenges, but I know you are all up to it!

Sincerely,

RAdm. David Trinh

We enjoy role playing on the bridge and writing officer's logs after a big mission. There was one game back in early 2018 that is worth sharing.

On 13-02-2018, read about how Captain Vanderzandan of the TSN-Hopper attempts to save a pod of whales and protect the remainder of the natural fauna in the sector. Somehow, a human virus made the leap to space marine life...
