ACTION ALERT: Call the Mayor !
View this email in your browser
Dear John,

This is a critical time for affordable housing funding, and I’m asking you to take action. Over the last eight months we called on Mayor Gray and the DC Council to invest in a full Continuum of Housing, with a backbone of $100 million dedicated every year to the Housing Production Trust Fund. Now it’s time for our elected officials to act and fund the programs that make housing affordable to us and our neighbors.

On April 3, Mayor Gray will announce his plans for the DC Budget. We need to make sure Mayor Gray puts the funds in place we need.  We have one more chance to impact his decision.

Call Mayor Gray today and ask him to support affordable housing in DC.

Thank you and please share this action!

Sincerely,
NEXT STEPS
Once the Mayor's budget is introduced, then the budget heads to the DC Council. The first opportunity to testify will be the Council hearing on the Department of Housing and Community Development on Wednesday, April 9
This is our chance to speak up for funding the Housing Production Trust Fund, the Home Purchase Assistance Program, and Small Business Technical Assistance. See a full list of housing and economic development hearings - and please let us know if you plan to testify or want help writing your testimony!

We believe all District residents deserve decent, quality housing at a price they can afford and call on District officials to invest in the programs to meet that need.

With $100 million in the Housing Production Trust Fund and additional increases across the Continuum of Housing, we could keep families in homes they can afford and out of temporary shelters, help renters become homeowners, end chronic homelessness, and rebuild the rapidly decreasing amount of high-quality affordable housing that our community needs.
