Learn more about Airbnb in DC

Dear <<First Name>>,

CNHED invites you to a conversation over lunch with UNITE HERE Local 25 to explore the impact of AirBnB on our community and the availability and affordability of housing in the District.

Since its founding in 2008, Airbnb has rapidly garnered international attention for its part in the entrepreneurial sharing economy. Described as a website for matching people who rent out lodging with those who are looking for lodging, Airbnb is rapidly expanding in major U.S. cities and boasts over 1 million listings and 25 million guests worldwide.
This new way of doing business in the sharing economy brings opportunities - but also may create some challenges. Over the past few years there have been some calls for tighter regulation from a variety of interest groups. One of those relates to the potential loss of affordable housing as entrepreneurs lease multiple apartments in order to rent them to Airbnb customers.
Date: Wednesday, April 22
Time: noon - 2:00 pm
Location: 757 15th Street NW
      **Lunch will be served.
Please RSVP and direct any questions you may have to Scott Bruton, Director of Housing Policy, 202-745-0902, x202.
I hope you can join us for a conversation about Airbnb's impact on DC.
