New Program, “Working Wind,” at ND Heritage Center & State Museum

BISMARCK - Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to participate in “Working Wind” on March 21 at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum.  Participants will learn about wind power and how wind can be used to make electricity.  They will make a pinwheel to take home as a reminder of how helpful wind can be. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

This program is part of “Little Kids, Big World,” a free interactive learning series sponsored by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. These fun, hands-on 30-minute programs introduce children to North Dakota’s fascinating history—from dinosaurs through today’s ongoing story.

The programs are led by Stephanie Schick, a gallery guide at the ND Heritage Center & State Museum. She is a graduate of Northern Arizona University who previously worked as an educator at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in Dubuque, Iowa.  Schick, who has a passion for history, science, and education, loves to travel and has taught in schools in Kenya and Egypt.

Participants are asked to meet at the east entrance information desk at the ND Heritage Center & State Museum. For more information, contact Erik Holland, 701.328.2792. For more programs sponsored by the State Historical Society of North Dakota, go to history.nd.gov.
