Chateau de Mores State Historic Site to Host Valentine’s Day Programs

MEDORA – The Chateau de Mores State Historic Site will host the program, “Louis de Vallombrosa and Pearl White: Society Headliners in the 1920s,” presented by local area actor Karen Nelson on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 5 p.m. at the AmericInn Motel & Suites in Medora. A $20 admission fee includes a wine social and hors d'oeuvres.

This program, sponsored by the Friends of the Chateau de Mores, highlights the Marquis de Mores’s elder son’s capers across the society pages. Handsome Louis de Vallombrosa was a highly sought-after guest for parties and balls. Louis married Thérèse Du Bourg de Bozas in 1917, and the couple had one son. After a time, why did Thérèse find Louis boring? What happened to her? How did Louis handle her rejection? Nelson will provide some surprising answers.

This presentation and a wine social are also included in an optional romantic Badlands weekend package at the AmericInn Motel & Suites, with dinner at The Little Missouri Dining Room and a spa visit to Cedar Canyon Spa.

To register for this program and for more information, call the Chateau de Mores State Historic Site at 701.623.4435. Find a calendar of upcoming State Historical Society events at history.nd.gov.
