Outdoor Classes Combine Painting Techniques and History at Chateau de Morès State Historic Site
Medora, N.D. – Capture the same scenes painted by Madame de Morès during the Plein Air Art Series at the Chateau de Morès State Historic Site near Medora. Classes will be led by lifelong artist Joseph Garcia, site supervisor at Fort Buford State Historic Site near Williston.
Classes will be held 2-4 p.m. MT the following dates: June 19, watercolor; July 17, acrylic; and August TBD, sketching. Each class will feature a new scene, a new medium, and instruction to help participants capture their own versions of classic Badlands views while enjoying access to exclusive areas of the historic site.
The class is open to ages 15 and up. A $50 participation fee includes all supplies, expert instruction, and drinking water. Registration is now open on Eventbrite. This event is co-sponsored with Friends of the Chateau.
Chateau de Morès is a state historic site managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota.
