WILLISTON – The public is invited to these free upcoming events at the Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center and Fort Buford State Historic Site.

Scrapbooking at the Confluence, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
 
August 21, 2016
Cowboy Poets at the Confluence, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Featured poets and musicians will be Bill Lowman, D.W. Groethe, Yarl Kvale, Terry and Linda Schwartz, Bob Peterman, and Dale Nystrom. Free and open to the public.

Fort Buford History Book Club, 7 p.m. Join history buffs in a discussion of this month's selected book, “So Much to Be Done: Women Settlers on the Mining and Ranching Frontier” edited by Ruth Moynihan, Susan Armitage, and Christine Fischer Dichamp. Confluence Quilters, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Join the Confluence Quilters for their monthly meeting at the Confluence. This month will feature block 3 of the Westering Women series. All experience levels invited and instruction provided. Bring your own lunch and unfinished projects.

History Alive! featuring Arch Ellwein as Yellowstone Vic Smith, 2 and 4 p.m. each day.

The Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center is a state historic site managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. It is located 22 miles southwest of Williston at Fort Buford State Historic Site. Fort Buford State Historic Site summer hours are daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Central Time. The Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
