The State Historical Society of North Dakota oversees the State Museum, the Pembina State Museum, and 55 historic sites. Our mission is “to preserve, interpret, and promote the heritage of North Dakota and its people.”

  STATE HISTORIC SITES

Fort Totten State Historic Site will be hosting a free Beading Class on Saturday Jan. 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Totten Trail Inn.  Participants need to register by contacting Nick Gronseth, 701.766.4441 or email ngronseth@nd.gov .

  ARCHIVES

The Will’s were a prominent Bismarck family that owned a seed company and had a variety of interests.  They researched and collected materials dealing with North Dakota archaeology, dendrology, ethnobotany, the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara people, and the history of Bismarck and the Northern Plains.The processing of the Will Family collection was completed in 2014.    For a complete inventory and to learn more click here.
