“Kitty Valentine’s Celebration” Being Held at the Former Governors’ Mansion

BISMARCK – Children are invited to “Kitty Valentine’s Celebration,” on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Former Governors’ Mansion State Historic Site, 320 East Ave. B in Bismarck. This free event is hosted by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The event will include a short video festival featuring fun cat clips, a sing-along about cats led by local musician Kittyko, and the opportunity to make cat toys from supplied materials. Children are welcome to bring additional materials, such as ribbon or bells, if they wish. Staff and volunteers will be present to assist children. The cat toys may be taken home or left at the Mansion for delivery to a local shelter. There will not be cats present at the event.

Families are invited to submit photos of their cats for a slideshow of local pet felines. Photos or questions about this free event may be submitted to kriskitko@gmail.com.  For more programs sponsored by the State Historical Society of North Dakota, go to history.nd.gov.
