Fort Abercrombie State Historic Site to Host Summer Events
FORT ABERCROMBIE - Fort Abercrombie State Historic Site will open on May 28 with summer hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week.
On opening day, visitors can experience military training drills of 1862 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. as the 5th Minnesota Infantry Company D 1862 reenactment unit completes drills and training for the new recruits. Educational guided tours of the site will be available throughout the day.
Additional events planned for the summer include a Junior Soldiers program, a weekly Sunday History program, an Authors and Crafters Expo, a Kid’s Fishing Tournament, and a Hobby in the Lobby program. For information on upcoming programs visit history.nd.gov/events.
