Public Invited to Bluemle Book Signing at North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum
BISMARCK, N.D. - The North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum will host a book signing with local author John Bluemle on Saturday, Nov. 26, from noon to 3 p.m. Bluemle’s most recent book, "North Dakota's Geologic Legacy," will be available for sale in the Museum Store. Detailed in the book is the story of North Dakota’s landscape: the shape of the land, the geologic materials, the processes that shaped them, and the length of time involved in their formation.
Bluemle is the former state geologist and director of the North Dakota Geological Survey, having retired in 2004 after 42 years with the state agency. He holds degrees in geology from Iowa State University (B.S.), Montana State University (M.S.), and The University of North Dakota (Ph.D.). Other books by Bluemle include “The Face of North Dakota,” “Guide to the Geology of Southwestern North Dakota,” and “The First 100 Years: The History of the North Dakota Geologic Survey, 1895-1995.”
