Museum Lab Program Explores Gardening for School-Age Kids

BISMARCK –Children in grades K-12 can now register for “Museum Lab: Garden Crafters” on May 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. This free program will explore gardening basics and planting and growing seeds. Students will decorate their own flower pot and plant seeds to take home.
 
Museum Lab—part science lab, part DIY garage—connects science, technology, art, and history with everyday experiences and an atmosphere of experimentation. Students explore how historians use real-world problems and authentic objects to anchor modern issues in a historical context. They will learn how historians, scientists, and artists work together to spark new ideas and deepen their understanding of content.
 
Sponsored by the State Historical Society of North Dakota, future “Museum Lab” programs will explore several topics including leather making projects and plants and animals of North Dakota.
