Cookie Monster once said, "Sometimes me think what is love. And then me think love is what last chocolate chip cookie is for. Me give up last chocolate chip cookie for you."

We love that you are a part of Blue Ridge Women's Center. I want to share a quick story with you. This month we had an abortion minded young lady come in for an appointment. Her boyfriend was cheating on her, she has no job, no education, no hope. During her appointment, the counselor was able to breakdown walls with this young lady time after time. She is actually post abortive and hurting emotionally from that choice. She wants a job but does not know how to get one without an education. She does not love her boyfriend but does not know how to leave. And she wants her baby but does not see a way to keep it. Our counselor heard her, loved on her with truth, and shared that there is One who loves her no matter what.

She will be back to BRWC soon for test results. Pray for this young lady. She left here different than when she came. That is why we love YOU... you are helping change lives.

Meet our Staff - Lisa Radford

How long have you been at BRWC?
I began as a volunteer in 2003. In 2009, I became the staff nurse manager.

What brought you to BRWC? I love what the ministry does. It is an adjunct for counseling. We help clients see truth as they discuss options. We give them more information about their pregnancy.

Do you have a story to share? A few years ago, I was giving an ultrasound to a young lady. She was very excited to parent. She was around eight weeks along. As she looked at the ultrasound and saw the heartbeat and the outline of her baby, she began to weep. Not a weeping of joy but of pain. I asked her what was wrong. She told me that several years ago, she had an abortion. She was eight weeks along. Her school did not tell her she was carrying a baby. To me that is why BRWC is here. To give women the truth.

Anything else? You asked if this job is the best job I have ever had.  I will say it is the hardest, best job I have ever had.  I have the privilege to witness a child’s life in its earliest stages and then I have the privilege to pray to the Lord for this child’s life to continue.  I am thankful for this  and I do love my job.

Retired? Just taking a career break? Or still working? We are in need of more ultrasound nurses, sonographers, nurse practioners, or even PA's. If you are interested please contact Lisa at lisar@blueridgewoman.org

Grace Revealed

As we all know with owning a house comes the often dreaded maintenance. Same for Blue Ridge Women's Center. We have a roof that is leaking and in desperate need of replacement.

As Christians we are to give all of our needs and requests to our Lord. This includes His insight on our material needs. Read below and see where Grace was Revealed.

"I would personally like to reach out and thank you for the opportunity to collaborate with the Blue Ridge Women's Center on the roof-replacement. As a fully female-owned company, a single mother of two daughters and a lifetime resident of the Roanoke Valley, the clinic's mission in serving in the well-being of women in our community is close to my heart. My team and I fully support the mission of the Center and we are proud and honored to inform you that we have negotiated pricing on your behalf"... She goes on to end the letter with, we are able to offer you a full roof replacement with lifetime warranty at a discount of over 60% off our regular pricing. Signed by Harmony Wright, owner of All-in-One Home Solutions.

Grace Revealed!! What a huge blessing that is to our staff, donors and clients. What could have been over $25,000 will now be only $10,000. If you would like to help replace our roof you can give through our website or help us through Roanoke Gives.
