1) AWARENET’s Training Course on Water Integrity for MENA Region – 14 to 15 January 2015, Dead Sea, Jordan.

A Training Course on Water Integrity for MENA Region as part of the WI MENA programme will take place concurrently with the 3rd Arab Water Week at the Dead Sea, Jordan from 14 to 15 of January 2015.

The overall objective of the regional Water Integrity Training is to develop capacities of various water sector stakeholders for water integrity in the MENA region, thereby improving transparency and accountability practices in water resources management. This training in particular aims at reaching out the wider MENA region, beyond the five pilot countries and the specific target groups of the WI MENA programme.

2) GWP/UN-Water Campaign Training – 1 to 5 December 2014, Pretoria, South Africa. 

The GWP/UN-Water Campaign Training took place from 1 to 5 of December in Pretoria. This annual communication workshop was conducted in cooperation with UN-Water as part of GWP’s commitment to campaign for water as a dedicated goal on the post-2015 development agenda. The objective of this workshop was ‘to develop a global campaign to keep Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No.6’ which is ‘Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all’. A total of 19 participants from GWP and 8 campaign partners participated in this workshop. Cap-Net’s Capacity Building Analyst, Ms. Yasmina Rais El Fenni attended this workshop as one of the invited campaign partners. 3) Launching of CB-HYDRONET website.

CB-HYDRONET is pleased to announce that its official website is now online at http://www.cb-hydronet.org/. This preliminary website is currently only available in French. For more information please contact Dr. Raphael Tshimanga

                 


4) Announcement of New CapNet Lanka Coordinator.

CapNet Lanka would like to announce that Prof. Nimal Gunawardena who is the founding member of CapNet Lanka will take over the helm as the coordinator effective from 1st of January 2015. Cap-Net would like to thank the outgoing coordinator Dr. Lakshman W. Galagedara for all the significant support and collaboration throughout his term as a coordinator and good luck in his new undertakings and affiliations.

5) Video of the month.
 
Instilling Water Integrity in Sibagat, Philippines
 
Celebrating the award winning anti-corruption project on water governance where citizens from Sibagat province were trained to monitor the Public Finance processes of water projects to mitigate corruption and instil integrity. We hope that other provinces replicate this initiative and join the fight against corruption!
