Kneemail from Saint James Church

April 5, AD 2018

Dear Parishioners and Friends of St James’,
My sincere thanks to all who made our celebration of the Triduum and Easter Day such a wonderful experience.   Many, too many to list, gave of their time and energy to the Queen of Feasts.  If you were away from Texarkana at Easter, no worries!  We keep the feast for the entire forty days of Eastertide—lots of chances to sing the great Easter hymns.
While we are on the topic of the Triduum and Easter, some great photos are available on our newly redesigned website, which you may view at  While it still a work in progress, one of the features of the new site is the ability make online pledge payments, as some of you have asked.  Please take a moment a check it out!
Yours with every blessing,

Rev. Douglas Anderson, Rector

A WORD ABOUT PANHANDLERS.  Being a downtown church, from time to time, panhandlers may approach you after Mass, looking for money.  In such a case, it is best that you refer them to the clergy.  We have the ability to respond to their needs in an appropriate way, and oftentimes can identify those whom we have already helped.  St James’ gives generously to those in need in our community, but it is best that we do this in a systematic way.
